GMG Shipbuilding, with a history of over 40 years, has evolved from an agency of simple ship trading into an integrated solution supplier providing ship design, manufacture, supervision, financing and lease services. GMG Shipbuilding has built for many foreign owners many the container vessels, oil tankers, bulk carriers, offshore drilling platforms, offshore support vessels, tugboats and other workboats. In addition to the shipbuilding services like the equipment procurement agency, ship construction, ship supervision and technical support service, GMG Shipbuilding also provides ship financing and ship leasing services to ship owners by the export credit or others. To date, GMG Shipbuilding has built over 700 vessels for the whole world in total, and its annual ship import-export value attains US$300 million per annul in recent years. In 2008, GMG Shipbuilding ranked 11^th in China in terms of ship exports and became a respected enterprise in the marine industry.

Guangxin Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (GSHI for short) is a Chinese-foreign joint venture specializing in the research and manufacture of marine engineering equipment and special-purpose vessels, controlled and established by GMG. This project is located in Linhai Industrial Park, Zhongshan, with a total investment of RMB790 million and a floor area of 380,000 m², and was chosen as a key construction project of Guangdong Province in 2009. In May 2010, GMGSHI was chosen as a top 500 modern industrial enterprise of Guangdong. In July 2010, the GSHI Technical Center received the honorary title of “Municipal-level Enterprise Technical Center” of Zhongshan Municipality.

Thanks to GMG’s experience and marketing network based on 60 years of ship trading, and oriented to global operations and high-end industries, GSHI aims to produce marine engineering equipment and special-purpose vessels of high technology level and added value, establish a modern “digital” shipbuilding pattern, extend its shipping industry chain that integrates “design and R&D, manufacture, trade and marketing, and operational services”, and strengthen technological R&D and innovation so as to improve its core competencies, and develop into a world-famous marine engineering enterprise featuring “advanced technology, excellent management and first-class efficiency”.

In April 2009, Wang Yang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Guangdong Province, and Governor Huang Huahua visited the GMG shipbuilding base.

In May 2010, Tang Bingquan, vice Chairman of Guangdong Provincia committee of CPPCC, Wen Guohui, Chairman of State-owned Assets Supervision Administration Commission of Guangdong Provincial, Ou Guang, Chairman of Guangdong Foreign Trade Group visited GSHI.

Business:

Ship design, building and repair, second-hand and rejected ship transaction, ship dismantling, as well as import and export trade of ship necessities, port machinery and complete set of equipment;

Contracting special coating project and professional repair project of drilling platform and steel structure;

Performing purchase tendering agency, ship building supervision and technology trade;

Providing shipbuilding financing for ship owners by making use of export credit as well as ship leasing business.


In December 2009, the frist ship of GSHI was being launched	In September 2010, Launching ceremony of 58.7M AHTS of Tidewater Inc.
In the afternoon of April 23, 2011, the launching ceremony of the 58.7-meter multi-purpose utility vessel GMG08100 built by GSHI for Tidewater Inc. was held at the shipbuilding base of GSHI.
